last summer i bought a flip, and like you, enjoyed it for its simplicity. soon i realized i needed something more, but didn’t go hd for whatever reason i researched. it records on little tapes, which has been fine for me so far. i do regret having not gone hd, tho.

Cannon makes solid camera’s, that is for sure. Bummer to hear about your audio issues, my issue is learning to edit with some advanced stuff.
Hard but fun.

I have a Canon …
I have a Canon ZR850. It’s not HD, but it’s not bad. My only complaint is the tape sound bleeds into the audio in quiet places. I have the option of both 16:9 and 4:3 ratio. It’s MiniDV. I like having tapes because tapes is a time tested archival medium. I’ll be taking the video and putting them on DVD, but it’s nice having that solid archive.
