A great idea. I’ve been trying out all kinds of sponge cut from dish-washing sponges to bath sponges. Many work well (especially the fine ones) but your idea just might have the edge so I’ll give it a try. Many thanks for sharing.

Great video. Any 100% polyester filter would do. Right next to the fluval was a giant no-name pack that would last years for $3.29.

    Again, a little …
Again, a little research here. The minimum lethal dose of nicotine for an adult human is about 40mg. For a smoker, it is usually well over 100mg. The highest concentrations of nicotine found in commercially available e-juice are usually 36mg/ml (though some vendors provide higher concentrations for mixing). That filter holds around 0.5ml, or about 18mg of nicotine, so if she managed to absorb all of the nicotine in 4 of them instantaneously, it could be fatal.

I use the stuff as hand lotion.

    The tiniest bit of …
The tiniest bit of research would have shown that that is not an issue. The hottest part of an e-cig gets up to 100-130 degrees (Celsius) while the part that touches the filter material only gets a little too hot to touch. Polyester melts at 220-240 degrees and burns at 250-280 degrees. Not even close to being able to produce polyester vapors. Additionally, the toxicology reports of e-cigs that have polyester based filters show no toxins in the vapor that come from the filter.

    If I am not …
If I am not mistaken, that stuff is made out of polyester. I don’t know how hot the atomizers in ecigs get or if it can get hot enough to burn some of the stray polyester fibers. If it does, then using this stuff is probably not the wisest choice. Inhaling polyester fumes can’t be good for you.

Loved the part near the end about the filter ingredients and fish tanks. Some people just don’t think logically do they? LOL! Thx for making my day brighter.

BTW, I’m waiting on a order for a Janty Dura-C w/2bats, 2 atomizers, & 5-pk cart plus I bought empty carts (3 – 5-pack units) and 3 different e-liquids to find my favorite flavoring. Love coffee, love cherry (sweet dream analogs & Virginia Slims too), also bought rose flavoring. I hope it works or DH & I will go to war over my smoking.

Hi mark, you can use it for as long as you want, one I used for 5 days just kept adding the same e-liquid, then I changed to another flavor and this one I have been usin g for 2 weeks and still going. I just change when I think it is clogged with liquid and I no longer get a strong hit. Happy vaping.

    Aloha, you could, …
Aloha, you could, seems like alot of work for such tiny filters, ples it costs probably 1cent to make your own fresh clean one, but simply cutting it to fit, “done”, 1 clean filter ready to go. Or you could always wash rinse squeeze, wash rinse squeeze let dry pull apart and start all over again hoping the old residue is gone. Anyhoo, good luck with that one, Happy Vapeing

Wow, it is really dangerous to handle liquid nicotine with your hands. You should put the batting into the cartridge first, and THEN drip the juice in. I hope you realize how dangerous it is, jdk63. You’re such a sweet lady, I’d hate to see anything happen to you!

    Aloha, keep the …
Aloha, keep the plastic parts together that is the housing. Throw away the used up filter inside if it gets to tasting nasty, or burnt, or if you want to change flavors. Just make a filter to fit inside and fill it with your favorite E-liquid. Saves a ton on ordering Blanks when you already have the blanks once you throw away an old filter.
    Happy vaping and Thank You…Aloha
